QUEST – This is your first Quest, it’s like a scavenger hunt!
You are taking your first steps to discover where to have access to safe places to shoot, equipment and programs available to start, people who are willing to guide your progress, and relationships that will support your archery progress. In your local area you need to seek out (bet you know how to Google) your local archery resources and community.
Your Quest is to visit a local archery PRO SHOP and visit a local ARCHERY CLUB. Your goal is to take your first shot and have a relationship where you can shoot consistently.
Introduce yourself and your desire to learn, that you are starting your ARCHERS QUEST!
Ask the shop owner to show you around. A pro shop is different from just a store that sells some archery equipment. A pro shop can be a longterm relationship that helps service your equipment and helps you grow as an archer. They sell the most advanced equipment that retailers won’t be able to stock. When your equipment breaks who will diagnose and repair it? Go to an archery pro shop!
Your pro shop will know about all the archery clubs in your area too. Research their locations and special attributes. All can offer you adventure with safe places to shoot and new friends! Contact the club(s) and ask for a tour. Then go have fun!
Between these two resources, they will have equipment for you to try, people to help instruct/mentor you, lessons and possible training programs.
